Game Guide Go Go
So, we got our copies of the Brady Games LittleBigPlanet guide and it is a vast and wondrous thing.
There will be no sales pitch here, but the book is huge (300+ pages) and a lot of love and hard work went into it. So props to Martin and Shaun who did our end of the project, and a round of applause for the guys at Brady and Off Base, especially Christian Sumner and Keith Lowe.

It’s already on Gamestop shelves in the States, and now Amazon has started sending it out as well. For $20, I’m glad to see it’s such a hefty tome.

I’m curious as to how much details are covered in regards to the Create mode… I’ll probably do just fine with the Story Mode, or look on the net whenever I need solutions to some levels, however I’d love to see a good collection of tips and tricks and examples of more elaborate devices to get a good head start in creating.
How do you get one i almost want it more than the game!!! O_O
Using walkthroughs and tips is against my beliefs and ideologies as a gamer, and I feel offended that this 300+ pages guide is available for sale. It defies my ideals of completing a videogame without external help and evolving into a better, more sophisticated gamer by rejecting walkthroughs. I would therefore appreciate it if this guide were to be recalled worldwide and censored, so that there aren’t any spoilers, tips or locations of hidden items left in there.
Oh wait.
I could also just not buy it.

I touched the game yesterday then sears would not sell it to me.
They were kind enough to give me a moment with the package just wouldn’t let me take it home. I offerred $200 cash but no..
This after going to fry’s, target, game stop, bestbuy and costco. ..
If i was not in the beta and the beta was over this would not hurt nearly as much !!

@Solo Gamer: I think you’re kind of missing the point. Change the book to a $100 bill. Now look at that bill and see that someone has written something absolutely horrible about your mother (or yourself) on it. You still want the $100, but you’d rather it not have those words on it. If you could exchange that bill for a clean one, you would. Better yet, if when you got the bill for the first time, there was nothing on it, there would be no issue at all.
Solo Gamer, that is just how I feel… You probably are a Europe gamer because Americans keep saying,”oh what does it matter, its only a week…”. Also, sometimes they say we should just wait those 2 weeks because it aint much. Well, easy talk for you guys. I’m currently dying to play the game here and therefore will not cancel my order. Although the said thing is. Everyone here is cancelling their orders so when I get the game, I have no one to play it with(* cries *). Although I will amuse myself on my own, it won’t be the same. But eventually, and for one I know for sure, they will buy the game. So then we can play happely together. Right!?
@ senocular: For a hundred dollars anyone can write whatever they like on that bill. I’d only use it to buy LBP and the aforementioned guide.
@ senocular, this isn’t to be compared with bills?? This is a game, FACE IT. What he says, buy it if you want, BUT if you don’t want it, DON’T BUY IT. And a question to you seno, what about christians when the cathedral was blown up in Resistance… Isn’t that a bit more offending then some lyrics. And as you may have read, Muslims also think Sony overeacted. Some are smiling right now that they got the game early and are happy it wasn’t delayed before they got it. Isn’t that kind of ironic? Think about it…

@senocular: Ah, but if someone wrote something horrible about my mother on that $100 dollar bill, it would have been a conscious attempt to insult me on a personal level. Which is not the case with this game guide, I suppose. They could still do the right thing and censor it before it gets released worldwide, but I won’t push them that far. I’ll simply choose not to be offended and let other gamers just use this game guide as they please.
I get the point entirely. Since my belief system of becoming a good gamer by not using walkthroughs is not based on religion, I will not be taken seriously. Nobody cares.
I wouldn’t actually mind a sales pitch for this. Is it a guide for the main game or doea it give you tips for the create mode?? I’m not really in to game guides but if this helps me make an interesting level I’d buy it.
Nice one, 300+ pages is alot for a game guide. Think I’ll be purchasing one myself. Kind of hope it’s being released before the game, so I have a little something on LBP already:P.
But there probally is just an English version at the moment, would wait for the Dutch one myself.

I also got to hold a copy in my hot little hands at sears. I went to purchase it and their computer would not ring up the game. I even tried to have them ring up another game in it’s place, but the lady called her manager and she told her if the computer says they can’t sell the game the they won’t allow you to purchase it. A little part of me died that day, oh well I will get that part of me back when I can actually make that purchase. I normally don’t purchase strategy guides or do walkthroughs but I just might purchase this just because it looks awesome. Sackboy forever!

Will this guide expand on the Tutorials and give you different concepts and how to use the tools in unique ways?
Also! I’d like to know how you had the spotlight follow sackboy in the intro.
I REALLY want to make use of that technique with a boss and some other crazy ideas I have for enemies. If you could PLEASE let me know i’d really appreciate it!
I’m the guy that did the GAF SCHMUP concept level (the side scrolling shooter). I want to expand on that idea and have enemies that will shoot at sackboy.
Also…I have the game in my hands already!

Just came back home with the book in my hand. Couldn’t resist not to buy it!
I got this a few days ago, wonderful guide. I refuse to really use it until absolutely necessary, though.
It’ll get me by until next week, although I almost had a copy today but it rang up “Do Not Sell,” at the cash register.

Hey Media Molecule! I’ve been reading a lot of the recent comments and it seems that some people acted a little immature about your decision on the delay. I just want to say that O think you made the right decision and I really appreciate all the hard work and effort you’ve put into this game. You’ve really brought games to a new level, believe that. When I played the Beta, something struck me as I was playing it. From the music, to the cartoony art design, to the voice from Hitch Hikers Guide, and sack boy’s face, I noticed something. This entire game is positive! For the rest of the week I was not only in a good mood, I tried to be a better person. I know that sounds corny but its the truth. The game has changed me, and its not the CREATE mode. Its the game itself. I really hope you guys know that you don’t just make games. These are things that people play after a bad day. And if something were to cure a bad day, it’d defiantly be Little Big Planet.

Still waiting for the game. But what will happen to the Space suit and 1st week t-shirt? Is PSN on top of it and will change the date according to release dates in different countries or should I fear that I won’t be getting those? Can’t find information about this
I ordered the book from Amazon uk yesterday. The book will get here before I get the game! LOL
Glad that there’s a creat guide in there otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered, but as it stands I’m gonna order it on payday.

hey can someone tell me the release date for canada, ebgames canada is saying nov3 and futureshop is saying the 29th ut it says preorder arrival so does that mean i can ick it up on the 28th or the 27th please help.

Picked up the guide on Tuesday. Very well done, worth every penny. Great work as always!
i picked my guide up yesterday…its pretty dam interesting seeing that it shows you the entire game and every hidden item there is in the game. Also i read into the create pages and it shows how to make plenty of things to keep u building and building.The catapult was pretty cool and it shows you how to make rocketcars,which is awsome because i had no idea that it was that complex.But thats why i picked my copy up.
Just got a call from gamestop and they said LBP would be in my store tomorrow!!!! I called to verify and the employee said they had received an email stating the warehouse had it and they were supposed to receive a shipment tomorrow but wouldn’t promise me anything. I understood but appreciated the information. I’m in Tucson, AZ southeast part of town! Hope everyone gets there copy tomorrow too!!

I’m from a small town outside of the Western New York state area(over by niagara falls you might of heard of it)
Anyway got my copy from gamecrazy today the 25th of october and I know that we were suppose to receive some pre-order content but I didn’t get anything when I picked up the game. I love the game it’s spectacular and moving from the beta to the real deal is a true delight for me. Despite the small bump in the road last week this game KICKS Arse. I just have one question?? When will the Servers be up so we can get to our friends list because almost everyone on my friendlist is playing LBP and I would love to play with them? Can you update us as to when the servers will be up I just can’t wait to play with some people online..

MM, can you guys convince Brady to make an eGuide edition? Like a digital PDF version? PDF is much easier for those of us that prefer paperless. It’s also good to Go Green these days!
Amazon UK have started taking orders for the guide. But they don’t know when it will be released.
Not sure if its an official UK release or whether Amazon are just going to import a load of the US version if demand is big enough.

Hey MM, hows about you get on the phone now to Brady and ask them why they can’t be bothered to sell this guide in the UK or anywhere else outside of the US? Or how about you put in your posts how it is only available in the only important place worth bothering about in the whole world (i.e. the US)?
One would think you would have ensured this was the case when you sold them the rights to produce it. Or do you, like SCE, not give a crap about PAL gamers? How about you import a load yourself and let us have it? For Christ’s sake, US consumers even got an official SCE money-off deal for the book while the rest of the world doesn’t get it at all!!!!!!
We buy more PS3 hardware and software than any other region. And we pay more than any other region. Yet we get stuff late or not at all.
US only. What a surprise. PAL gamers screwed again.

PS What makes it even worse is that I got an email from SCE saying “20% off LBP guide!”. Yes, if I live in the US. Given that I signed up to PSN in a PAL territory, can someone explain why I got the email? Are SCE *trying* to upset their customers even more than they already have these past two years?
Ordered this on the 22nd october and it arrived today. Still waiting for the game but my pre order is on the way. A great book and well worth getting
Been playing the game for a week now and it is awesome.
It is just plain wrong however that Bradygames guide isn’t for sale anywhere outside the US, Amazon has a few copies from outside sellers but for £40 it is nothing short of daylight robbery when it is available in the US for $20.

Congratulations on the game though Mm, the single most exciting title to come out for years and the use of Stephen Fry is inspired.
