lurve, play-create-share & e3

well that was a fun e3! I really don’t do jet-lag well but the people of america (TM) didn’t seem to mind. THANKS AMERICANS! Nice burgers. We’ll post more updates about e3 soon.
Amidst all the madness on the way home, we were rather shocked to find a pile of nastygrams awaiting us. What could this mean? Did sackboy go out and throw up on someone’s new suede shoes? Ah no, it was merely a case of ye-olde-internet-crossed wires. Fear not, ye peeps of the intertubes, see here for calming balm: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=200029
but of course you’d much rather read something like this and not worry about all of that hot air…
indeed, just take a dip into any other of the articles libipl.net has been collecting, bless them. Right? Lovely. Tea. Drink it. Yummy.

Here’s something for you to make while we finish the game (we are working very hard, honest! The beta-trials are keeping us especially busy).
If you create and colour a sackperson you are especially proud of then take a photo and send it to hello@mediamolecule.com. I’ll post a gallery of our favourite submissions in a couple of weeks.
Edit: The mouth is quite tricky! Here’s a photo of what you should end up with: Papercraft Head

‘couple of people asked in the comments if all guildford-game-dev offices are the same cubicle-free, bland white-walls-and-blue-carpet setup… well, it certainly seems that way :) but when we first started Mm, we were working out of 3 small rooms. we decided to paint them pink, yellow, and blue to try to take the edge off the otherwise boring environment. the pink room used to be our board room (now kitchen :) ), the blue room the main dev office (now a chill out area, seen here), and the yellow room was sort of overflow (now, QA). You can see how it looked back in february, with piles of recently delivered, as yet un-unboxed devkits filling most of the room. Eventually we acquired a larger, more ‘boring’ space next door – which is what you see in the timelapse video.

Recent coverage of LBP!
2008May 20th
We’ve been demoing the latest builds of the game to various people, culminating in some lovely coverage (and a great PSM3 cover here in the UK which you can customise with your own stickers! it’s FANTASTICO! thanks guys)
So what else is out there?
Here’s one of the videos up at gametrailers:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/34179.html – in which I go through a little about the fire and ice stuff in the game. There are more videos up there – and many more articles to read.
Joe at the LiBiPl.net site has been doing a great job of collecting links – so if you’re hungry for more, I highly recommend his fan-blog. Thanks Joe!
