It’s all over. Our final push was not enough, the battle is lost. Harmonix have defeated us in the Escapist March Mayhem Developer showdown due to a technicality…  technically they got more votes than us… and so technically speaking they won.

We are proud of each and every one of you who came to our side, and represented us on the field. You showed courage in the face of certain doom, and spread the word with a smile on your face, showing that LittleBigPlanet fans are some of the coolest people around.  Although the day was not ours, we lost to very worthy opponents, and as a sign of goodwill towards our victors, let’s all vote for them in the next round, where they face off against the might of 2K Marin.  Afterall, if they can beat the mighty Molecule, they must be able to win this whole thing… right? ;)

So, I was just out walking around nowhere near our office, like in town somewhere, and look what someone who has absolutely nothing to do with us threw away in some rubbish bins. *dum dum dummmmm.*

We love you Harmonix, we truly, truly do, but from this day forth, and until March 22nd, you are our sworn mortal enemies, each and every last one of you.

That includes you Milo Martinez, so called web QA tester, and creator of these somewhat awesome L4D Sackboys, even you are not exempt.

Unless we meet you in person, when we will be very likely buy you a beer and hang out as though nothing is happening. Got that? Good.

VOTE MOLECULE

Voting for the first round of the Escapist’s March Mayhem Developer’s Showdown 2010 begins today. It’s a chance for the public to vote for their favourite developers. A chance to show the world who truly has the biggest and most persuadable fan base. A chance for The Escapist to treble their readership. But most of all, it’s an all out horrible teeth-gnashing bloody battle to the death to see who is the BEST DEVELOPER EVAR.

In this first round, we are up against Harmonix, a David and Goliath situation, and yet despite that we are committed to victory. There is a very slim chance of achieving that victory, it’s basically a suicide mission, and that is why we have chosen YOU to fight for us whilst we hang out behind the lines drinking tea.

Now is the time people! Sign up and vote for us, the true underdogs of this war. Do your duty and vote, vote, vote for Molecule! I’ll lead the charge! The 900 billion people who own Rock Band won’t even know what’s hit ‘em!
