We’d be very grateful and celebrate with cake, champagne, and a little dance. We’d make sure there was even enough cake to take some home in a party bag to enjoy later with a cup of tea too, and maybe even enough to eat for breakfast the next day. Cake for breakfast is what Media Molecule is all about. Oh and the making games thing too.

We are searching for a lead audio designer with both the experience and talent required to take the audio reins on one of our exciting new projects!

Oooooh!

This role, I am told, is not a junior position, neither is it a mid-level position for aspiring leads. That means it is a top level mega job. You must have proven experience in a similar role. We will only consider candidates who are able to provide an up to date show reel (although, if you’re experienced but out of practice then be prepared to do whatever it takes to prove your chops), have a minimum of five years experience working within a games team, and have shipped at least one title as a lead.

Is that you? Then read on!

Well, are you? If you think you have what it takes to be a professional LittleBigPlanet level designer, and can think of nothing you’d love more than to be paid to create, the creators of LBP Vita (Tarsier Studios) are waiting for your application.

We have worked with Tarsier Studios, based out of Malmö Sweden, on a numerous projects over the years, and they are a big part of the LBP Family already. We are thrilled that they have taken on the challenge of building the Vita incarnation of our little game! You can already see from the E3 Trailer just how great a job they are doing with the new game, and how exciting it could be to work on it! Working with the folk at Tarsier sounds like a lot of fun too…

Oooooh!

Since the unveiling of The City of Metronome at E3 2005, Tarsier Studios has made a name for itself as a developer with a unique vision and the talent to make that vision a reality.

After the release of Rag Doll Kung Fu™ : Fists of Plastic, Tarsier was asked to help out with the famed LittleBigPlanet™ franchise, something that we continue with to this day.

Our relationship with Mm and Sony reached its logical next step when we were entrusted with the development of LittleBigPlanet™ on the PlayStation® Vita. As HUGE fans of the game, it’s safe to say we were more than a little happy with this news!

Tarsier Studios are a ragtag band of game developers on a sworn mission to ingest caffeine and create awesomeness, and we will not stop until these missions are complete.

Apply at once friends! -  Let’s check out the E3 Trailer for the game one more time, just think, future trailers could feature your levels too. Zomg.

Oh, One more thing! - Whilst these design jobs are not here at Mm, we are hiring for some artists and programmers here at Media Molecule - check out our jobs too! Now heres that trailer…

Now we’re all settled in our new digs, we need to finish making a video game. In order to do so though, we are missing two vital Molecules, a Network Programmer and a Production Server Developer.

We really, really, really need you. Let’s not beat about the bush here: we’re pretty desperate.

If you are one of these awesome types of people, you should seriously consider joining us at Mm Towers, and becoming a Molecule, here’s just a small selection of the reasons why!

  • You’ll be an integral part of a small team with a family vibe.
  • Our new studio is really awesome and there’s a desk here with your name on it. Oh you don’t like that one? That’s fine we can move it somewhere else, it’s all good!
  • We have a tip top benefits package that is bound to make your life better in oh so many ways
  • We already love you to bits, and all want to be your friend
  • The freezer is full of ice creams, your favourite ones

We posted this a while ago on the site - but when we got a new site, it got lost in the move. Never mind, we found it in a box and have unpacked it again. So, if you missed it the first time, here it is again :)

Here at Mm, we make the server software that lets the LittleBigPlanet community play, create and share. We provide scoreboards, ratings, favourites, tags, publishing services and search indices to millions of players (tens of thousands concurrent) and millions of levels. We often serve tens of millions of HTTP requests and over a terabyte of traffic in a day.

We need someone who knows what it takes to make big services like this go fast - reliably.

You will be using the following tools and techniques to help get our server technology ready for life as a high-volume production system:

  • Continuous integration – including acceptance testing and performance testing
  • Automated deployment
  • Automated virtual server provisioning
  • Automated everything else!
  • Grown-up monitoring systems
  • Helping design processes that interface with various teams in Mm and Sony

You will understand the value of (and hopefully be excited by) working on internal tech like this:

  • A fast HTTP server with an embedded Ruby interpreter
  • An in-memory, hierarchical key-value store with on-demand indices, eventually-consistent replication and sharding
  • A Ruby web framework with a NeverBlock-style calling convention to the outside world, which makes adding features easy
  • A simple RPC protocol that helps us write non-blocking, distributed systems
  • Telemetry processing of lots of data using MapReduce

If you think this is what you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you!

Nitty-gritty:

  • We have server tech written in C/C++, Ruby and Perl. If you know a few different languages and are comfortable with learning and getting productive in other languages, that’s fine.
  • We’d like you to be comfortable developing in, deploying to, getting stats from and tweaking Linux.
  • The server team is very small (1.5 people right now), so you’ll be making a valuable contribution to both code and culture.
  • We’ll be operating an on-call rota, but our engineering practices (hopefully) keep calls to a minimum!
