Rag Doll Kung Fu
Rag Doll Kung Fu was the brainchild of Games industry veteran artist, Mark Healey. Working in his spare time, with a little help from his mates, Mark donned a bald cap and created a low-budget Kung Fu movie in the local park. Little did he know where this would lead him…
Fast forward three years of hard work and sleepless nights, and he had an almost-complete game on his hands, with low budget Kung Fu movie cut scenes to boot. Everything changed when he was invited to show Rag Doll Kung Fu to an astounded audience at the Annual ‘Game Developer Conference’, or GDC 2005
Valve Software had its trusty spies in the audience, and after a whirlwind trip down to Valve HQ, a few more sleepless nights, Mark had landed himself a deal to unleash his baby on the world, thanks to the wonders of Steam.
It was the success of Rag Doll Kung Fu that pushed Mark and his cohorts, Alex, Dave, and Kareem, to leave their quite comfortable jobs, and risk everything, by founding Media Molecule. Read more about the history of Mm.
Rag Doll Kung Fu is still available on Steam, and has spawned a sequel of sorts developed by our friends Tarsier Studios - Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic, available on the Playstation Network now!
