Audio Programmer

We are looking for an experienced Audio Programmer to contribute towards making one of our exciting new projects sound amazing and do ingenious things that will leave other games blushing. As an integral part of the audio team, in addition to the de rigueur audio engine management, pipeline development and implementation duties, this role is focussed on realising the audio-centric features in the game.

This is a full-time position for someone with a passion for doing pioneering work and creating world-class sounding games that push the boundaries of PlayStation audio. We’re not just looking for a programmer who “does some audio”, we’re looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about the potential of audio in games and can have an impact on our projects and studio by manifesting innovative, cutting edge work that exceeds all of our expectations.

Requirements

  • industry experience or transferable skills
  • shipped a game or a finished product that shows off your skills
  • superb C/C++ chops
  • a broad skill set which allows them to excel at both techy “under-the-hood” stuff as well as player-facing audio features
  • a strong interest in music and a solid understanding of music theory to assist them in the development of music-based features, ideally with some demonstrable experience of this
  • DSP skills to assist them in the development of creative sound mangling features (N.B. this extends beyond bread-and-butter applications such as a limiter)
  • a good ear and an audio aesthetic which allows them to create great work without having to rely totally upon feedback
  • great communication skills and be a self-motivated team player
