Studio Assistant

Are you the ‘host/ess with the most/ess’? We are looking for a new Studio Assistant to come and look after the team of molecules and help maintain and evolve our fabulous studio space. Media Molecule is a highly creative company with quite demanding needs! We aim to provide the best work environment for the team here so that they can keep dreaming up the wonderful ideas that keep us going and we need someone who will take pride in what they do, and have great attention to detail to help us do this….


You need to be someone who is happy to move between getting your hands dirty making sure the studio is clean & tidy, through to assuring our coffee stocks don’t run out, facilitating our art classes or yoga sessions that we run here, and thinking big and being able to take on larger projects such as organising the Christmas party.

This role incorporates a high volume of tasks that will be given to you by a variety of different people within the team, therefore you will need to have excellent time management skills, an ability to prioritise and keep track of your tasks, plus complete a weekly check in report.  

The lists below is not exhaustive, but will give you an idea of the varied responsibilities the role entails:


Front Desk

  • Being the first point of contact for all visitors/callers to the studio
  • Answering all incoming calls within 3 rings
  • Looking after all visitors to the studio
  • Organising transport, dinners, etc.

Studio Upkeep

  • Ensuring that our studio is a tidy, welcoming, creative working environment, and that all of our team is happy and well cared for
  • Making sure the studio space looks great every day
  • Making sure the studio is ready for action each day and the meeting rooms are clean, tidy and stocked with paper/pens
  • Using your initiative to make suggestions to improve the space, or improve meetings etc

Events Organising

  • Organising Christmas party & summer BBQ
  • Prepping and facilitating the classes & activities held here (life drawing & yoga, etc.)
  • Facilitating the monthly massage day
  • Supporting Mini Molecules (a day for molecules and their kids to all hang out)

Catering and Kitchen Upkeep

  • Provide tea, coffee and lunches for meetings
  • Check weekly grocery stocks
  • Organising fun events around celebrations throughout the year
  • Ensure kitchens are always tidy and fully stocked
  • Fill and empty dishwasher each morning and evening

Administrative Duties

  • Passing on good messages to appropriate people
  • Distribute incoming mail
  • Taking the post to the post office
  • Ensure the stationery cupboard is well stocked and tidy at all times
  • Booking couriers
  • Organising birthday cards and cake

The responsibilities above are a selection of the regular duties; however this role incorporates a large element of ad hoc duties ranging from researching suppliers online to buying flowers for the office.

 

Advantageous

  • As well as all of this we are looking for someone who is highly conscientious and has a real can do attitude. You will be expected to arrive for work promptly each day, show a high level of enthusiasm for the role and be prepared to use your initiative to find effective solutions to tasks.
  • Being a fan of Mm and Mm Games would help too!
