Meet the CoMmunity - Hemlawk
Last month, Bella_Iris suggested we chat to Hemlawk for this newsletter, and we’re so glad she did! Hemlawk joined the Dreamiverse earlier this year, and has been doing some amazing work - including a whole batch of awesome neon signs recently! Get to know Hemlawk a little bit better with this interview:
What do you like to do in the Dreamiverse?
I enjoy creating something that will make people smile. Whether it's creating assets for someones game or making my own goofy Dream. It's a nice feeling when someone appreciates your efforts. The most fun I've had in Dreams was creating my Garden Jam game. It was a blast searching the Dreamiverse for assets, stamping them in scene and making it work. So cool!
If you could give other members of the CoMmunity a piece of advice for their time in Dreams, what would it be?
I can think of a few things. 1: If you're Dream surfing, give each game a chance. If there is something that needs work/debugging, leave them feedback. They might not realize players are having issues. 2: It's ok to not be "a master" in all aspects of Dreams. With time comes knowledge and skill. 3: Ask for help. This community is amazing! I've learned so much from streamers and videos.
What was the first thing you created in Dreams?
I created a set of Roman columns. I wanted to make something that would be used by the Dreamiverse aswell as a learning opportunity for myself. Being primarily a PC gamer, the controls were alien at first. I only wanted to smash my controller 3 times. HA! But now it feels quite natural.

How can people find you in the Dreamiverse?
Oh I'm all over the place. :) Besides searching by name: I've recently been making "neon signs" for the city creations. I'm almost always in the creation mode. I really need to spend more time playing peoples Dreams. So many outstanding creations out there.
Who'd you like to get to know in the Dreamiverse? We'll ask them some questions for next month's newsletter!
I feel trapped! Too many amazing people in this community to name just one. But in the spirit of this interview I'll name someone who truly blows my mind: Martin Nebelong aka Martinitydk. His creations often leave me scratching my head. I like the darker side of his creations yet he creates some really beautiful scenes. I suggest that everyone should take a peek at his work.
