Meet the CoMmunity - Martinitydk
If you’re active in the Dreamiverse, it’s very likely that you’ve seen Martin’s work - his vast array of gorgeous landscapes and beautiful concepts wow Dreamers on the regular (and those outside of Dreams, too!). Nominated by Hemlawk last month, we’ve asked Martin our usual questions to get to know a bit more about him!
What do you like to do in the Dreamiverse?
To me Dreams and the Dreamiverse basically feels like I’m 7 years old, and got the keys to the toy store and the factory that makes all the toys. It’s an incredible creative playground where only your ambitions and skills seem to limit what is possible. The tool is versatile enough so that it feels like almost anything can be made with the right mindset and dedication.
My main area of interest in Dreams is on the visual side, and from the beginning of my Dreams journey I was interested in seeing if I could use Dreams in my professional work as an illustrator. I’ve been making a living doing art for something like 17 years and have never seen asoftware as promising and impressive as Dreams. But Dreams has also encouraged me to explore areas like animation and logic which I’m slowly starting to get a better understanding off. I even started trying to learn to play the piano to be better at making music in Dreams.
If you could give other members of the CoMmunity a piece of advice for their time in Dreams, what would it be?
Go through all of the tutorials! I cannot say this enough, it’s really important to get a feel for Dreams. It is a complex tool set, but the tutorials make it a bit less daunting to make your first creation. Use social media to connect to other Dreamers, the Dreams community is incredibly friendly and helpful.
Also make sure not to be overly ambitious on your very first creations. Start out small with something like a rock or maybe a tree and then build worlds after that.
What was the first thing you created in Dreams?
A field of grass and a distant trees and mountains.. what a Martin thing to do!
Favourite food, movie and song, in that order. GO!
A good chili con carne,Lord of the Rings, “The Scientist” by Coldplay or some vocal trancewhich is greatto get me into that meditative state where I forget time and space while I’m working in Dreams!
Thanks for chatting to us this month, Martin! Next month, Martin's asked us to chat to BADROBO82 and we can't wait!
