Graphic Designer

It’s an exciting time to be part of Media Molecule as we look to further push the creative boundaries of gaming. Our studio is fast paced, dynamic, collaborative and is undergoing a period of significant growth and evolution!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative Graphic Designer to support our brand and graphic design team in creating memorable designs and branding for our product and studio needs. With multiple game and event releases each year, we look for graphic designers who can create flexible & creative riffs across a variety of genres and artistic styles under the Dreams brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Create graphical assets to inform Media Molecule’s products and identity.
  • Support other teams within the studio with graphic design requests; such as social media, digital product, game design or video edition.
  • Collaborate closely with our Sr. Brand Experience Designer to deliver design material throughout the whole creative process from concepting to final deliverables.
  • Presenting concepts and drafts to colleagues and stakeholders in order to collect feedback.

Skills required:

  • Creative and innovative approach to design, with thoughtful graphic problem solving and a strong sense of concept behind ideas.
  • Attention to detail and a good eye for composition and use of colour, as well as a big interest in typography, both classic and modern.
  • Proactivity and flexibility in the creative process, the capability to give and receive feedback and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, delivering presentations and documents to support both conceptual and visual ideas.
  • Proficient in graphic design software such as the Adobe Creative Suit or an industry standard relevant alternative.

Experience required:

  • A varied portfolio of work that shows the afore mentioned set of skills.
  • Professional experience in a graphic design capacity, ideally within a team of creatives.
  • Games industry experience isn’t required, but a deep understanding of the media and a love for games will be very well received.

Advantageous:

  • Experience working in the games industry or games related projects.
  • Illustrative skills in some ways: we’re not looking for an artist but iconography skills and vector work will be highly appreciated.
  • Experience creating with Dreams or other user-generated content platform.
  • Any other form of digital design (motion graphics, user interface, digital illustration, …).

Dreams is a very collaborative project and Media Molecule loves a game jam, so we need team members that can work well together – sometimes across departments that don’t traditionally overlap. Maybe you already work on a team, or manage a guild or play in a band – we’d love to hear how you get on collaborating with others.

Go for it. Media Molecule is filled with people with all sorts of previous experiences – straight from university, from jobs outside the industry, from AAA studios and indie ones, etc. We are after people who fit the roles we are hiring for not a specific number of years in the industry. Some roles benefit from certain experience, of course, but otherwise we are very open. We make creative games, and creativity is something we all enjoy.
